Microwave oven parts and components are those that make this popular household appliance work. The oven is a box like structure made of steel with a front opening fitted with a door. One side of the door has hinges and the other side has a latch. Behind the see-through door is a mesh which helps in the reflection of the microwaves. It then comes out of these cooling fins and gets ducted past the light and enters the cavity through holes located in the cavity. Air helps in picking up moisture from the cooking process taking place and guides it out of the oven through external vents.
There are temperature sensors that can detect if something is too hot and the appliance can shut down automatically if something is wrong. The control circuit provides power to the high voltage transformer. It also has a capacitor and big diode on its secondary side.
The magnetron is one of the most important microwave oven parts and is the source of microwave generation inside the oven. It is energized through a relay process and the microwaves generated are guided into the cooking chamber through a small window.
A microwave resistant turntable is placed on the floor of the cavity to give rotation to the food so that the food is cooked evenly. This turntable is operated with the help of a little knob like structure, which is connected by a belt to a low rpm motor.
The components and circuits of a microwave oven are quite different from those present in TVs and other appliances. They present some perplexing and unique problems for mechanics and technicians. They are often unique and differ from brand to brand.
